Rewire education and The International School of the Hague orchestra 2019

2019 began with the second succeful collaboration between the orchestra of the International School of the Hague and Rewire education. This year the artist and composer leading the workshops and presentation was Gerri Jäger.

Born in Innsbruck (Austria) in 1979 Gerri picked up the drums when he was 9 years old. After some brass-band and grunge-rock teenage years he studied jazz at the Conservatories of Innsbruck (AT) and later in Amsterdam (NL), where he graduated in 2006. Since then Gerri has been performing extensively in and outside the Netherlands expanding boundaries in music and its genres.

Over the course of four weeks Gerri collaborated with the orchestra (consisting of 70 students) to create several semi-improvied peices that were conducted through a series of gestures and signs using physical movements and props to convey instructions. The final presentation was documented by photographer Iris Uffen.
